The large shades and linear frames are familiar at first read, but their impossibly hidden light source lets you know they are special and part of a new generation of lighting. The classic shade forms of the Cymbal family work with the thin, geometric armatures to create something that feels simultaneously new and familiar. The armatures play a structural role in the system, giving Cymbal an architecturally grounded character and providing a conduit for the completely hidden LED sources.
